The Saturday afternoon rhythm

Unlike Nagaland (3 draws every day) or Punjab (1 draw every day), Maharashtra concentrates its weekly action into a single Saturday afternoon. Four schemes are drawn 15 minutes apart — short enough that a retailer or a regular player can follow the entire programme in under an hour:

Time (IST)SchemeTop prizeNotes

If you can only follow one, Maharashtralaxmi at 5:00 PM carries the largest weekly top prize. The earlier three are smaller-ticket products designed to keep retailers' counters busy through the afternoon and feed buyers into the 5 PM finale.

Sahyadri Monthly — Maharashtra's flagship

Once a month the Directorate runs the Sahyadri Monthly Lottery — a ₹50 ticket with a ₹21 lakh first prize and a ₹5 lakh second prize. The 30-day window between draws makes it Maharashtra's largest single-ticket payout outside the Bumpers. Winning ticket formats use the SH-/MS- prefixes.

Other monthly schemes in the rotation include Gajraj Monthly, Tejaswini Monthly, Ganeshlaxmi Akshay Tritiya Monthly (drawn around the auspicious Hindu festival), Maharashtra Gaurav, and Punyashloka Monthly. Most carry top prizes in the ₹10–21 lakh range with ₹30–50 ticket prices.

The widest brand portfolio in India

Maharashtra has cycled through more lottery brand names than any other Indian state. Some are active in 2026, some are seasonal, some have been retired but the names still surface in older results:

Active core (2026): Ganeshlaxmi Samruddhi · Gajlaxmi Shani · Sahyadri Prabhalaxmi · Maharashtralaxmi · Sahyadri Monthly · Gajraj Monthly · Tejaswini Monthly · Maharashtra Gaurav · Punyashloka
Historical / occasional: Gajraj · Akshay · Padmini · Mohini · Surbhi · Mahalaxmi · Saraswati

If you see a Maharashtra ticket with one of the historical brand names, the original scheme may no longer be in active rotation but the result is still archived in the Directorate's records. Check the draw date on the ticket — anything older than 30 days is past the claim window regardless.

Claiming a Maharashtra prize

The 30-day window starts the day the result publishes in the Maharashtra Government Gazette, not the day of the physical draw. Practical steps:

  1. Sign the back of the original ticket immediately — unsigned tickets are rejected as a matter of policy.
  2. Up to ₹10,000: claim in cash from any licensed Maharashtra State Lottery distributor.
  3. Above ₹10,000: visit the Directorate of Maharashtra State Lotteries in Mumbai (Mantralaya area) with the original ticket, two passport photos, a self-attested PAN copy, and a self-attested government photo ID (Aadhaar / passport / voter ID). Payment is by cheque after 30% TDS deduction under Section 194B.
  4. Above ₹1 lakh: additional KYC including a bank-account proof in the winner's name.

Frequently asked questions

Does Maharashtra State Lottery have a daily draw?

No. Maharashtra is a weekly + monthly + bumper state, not a daily-draw state. The flagship product is four weekly draws staggered on Saturday afternoon — Ganeshlaxmi Samruddhi at 4:15 PM, Gajlaxmi Shani at 4:30 PM, Sahyadri Prabhalaxmi at 4:45 PM, Maharashtralaxmi at 5:00 PM. The Sahyadri Monthly runs once a month with a ₹21 lakh top prize.

What are Maharashtra's weekly draw timings?

Every Saturday, four schemes are drawn 15 minutes apart: 4:15 PM Ganeshlaxmi Samruddhi, 4:30 PM Gajlaxmi Shani, 4:45 PM Sahyadri Prabhalaxmi, 5:00 PM Maharashtralaxmi. This staggered format means retailers and players can follow the entire Saturday programme in under an hour. Results are published online within 30 minutes of each draw.

How much does a Maharashtra State Lottery ticket cost?

Ticket prices vary by scheme. The Sahyadri Monthly costs ₹50 per ticket. Weekly schemes range from ₹10 to ₹50 depending on the brand and prize ladder. Bumper tickets — Diwali, Gudi Padwa, Akshay Tritiya, New Year — are typically ₹100 to ₹500. The Directorate publishes the official MRP on every ticket; do not pay above MRP.

What is the top prize in the Sahyadri Monthly?

₹21 lakh first prize, ₹5 lakh second prize. The Sahyadri Monthly is one of Maharashtra's headline schemes — drawn once each calendar month, ₹50 ticket, with a prize ladder that pays multiple consolation tiers. Recent winning ticket formats use the GS- prefix (e.g. GS-06-2058 won the Akshay Tritiya edition).

How big is the Maharashtra Diwali Bumper?

The 2024 Diwali Bumper paid a ₹2 crore first prize to ticket DL-326417. Maharashtra Bumpers are smaller than Nagaland's ₹6 crore Dear Bumper or Kerala's ₹25 crore Thiruvonam Bumper, but the Diwali edition consistently produces a crorepati every year, plus dozens of lakhpati second and third tier wins. The Directorate cites "619 Lakhpatis and 5 Karodpatis in 5 years" as its track record.

Is Maharashtra State Lottery the same as Lottery Sambad?

No. Lottery Sambad is Nagaland's brand only. Maharashtra runs its own separate operation with completely different brands (Gajraj, Ganeshlaxmi, Sahyadri, Tejaswini, Maharashtralaxmi, and others) under the Directorate of Maharashtra State Lotteries in Mumbai. The two have different governing departments, different draw days, different ticket prices, and different prize structures.

How long do I have to claim a Maharashtra prize?

30 days from the date the result is published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette. Winners must reach the Directorate of Maharashtra State Lotteries in Mumbai with the original ticket signed on the back, two passport photos, and KYC (PAN + Aadhaar). Prizes above ₹10,000 are paid by cheque after 30% TDS; up to ₹10,000 is paid in cash by the issuing distributor.

When will lotterysambaddaily.com publish Maharashtra results?

Maharashtra is currently coming-soon on our platform. The scraper that mirrors official Directorate PDFs is being built; we roll out one new state per fortnight. Until then, this page provides Maharashtra scheme, schedule, prize, and claim details sourced from the Directorate. For live results, the official site is lottery.maharashtra.gov.in.

Independent results mirror. Lottery Sambad Daily is not affiliated with the Directorate of State Lotteries, Nagaland, or any state government. The Directorate's official PDF is the only legal record. Lottery participation is restricted to persons aged 18 and above, only in the 13 Indian states where it is legal.
