The staggered evening format

Goa runs three Rajshree draws every evening, Monday to Saturday, spaced so a player can follow the whole programme in one sitting. Each slot is its own scheme with its own winning numbers — you don't carry one ticket across all three. The early Rajshree 10 Evening (5:40 PM) and late Rajshree Night (9:00 PM) are the smaller draws, each with a ₹10,000 top prize across six tiers. The middle Rajshree 50 (7:30 PM) is the headline draw: a ₹21 lakh top prize, a consolation prize, and eight tiers in all.

One detail that confuses newcomers: each weekday has its own named edition. The brand printed on a Saturday ticket reads "Shani", Friday is "Shukra", Thursday "Guru", and so on — so "Rajshree 50 Shani Weekly" simply means the Saturday running of the 7:30 PM draw. The format, prize ladder, and tier counts stay the same from day to day.

How the Rajshree 50 prize ladder works

The 7:30 PM Rajshree 50 is the draw worth understanding in detail. Its 1st prize of ₹21,00,000 goes to one full ticket — a two-digit series prefix plus a four-digit number (for example 97-7427), so the series matters for the top prize. A consolation prize then goes to that same four-digit number in every other series. From the 2nd prize down to the 8th, only the four-digit number matters — any series holding it wins that tier. The smaller 5:40 PM and 9:00 PM draws use plain four-digit numbers with no series prefix.

Is Goa lottery legal and online?

Goa is one of the 13 Indian states where state-run paper lotteries are legal, conducted under the Lotteries (Regulation) Act, 1998. Tickets are sold only through licensed retailers inside Goa — there is no legal online sale. Any app or website claiming to sell Goa Rajshree tickets is operating outside the law. Frequently asked questions

When are the Goa Rajshree draws held?

Three draws every day, Monday to Saturday (Sunday is excluded): Rajshree 10 Evening at 5:40 PM, Rajshree 50 at 7:30 PM, and Rajshree Night at 9:00 PM IST. Each weekday has its own named edition (Mangal, Budh, Guru, Shukra, Shani), but the times and prize structure are the same all week.

What is the top prize in the Goa Rajshree lottery?

₹21,00,000 (₹21 lakh) on the 7:30 PM Rajshree 50 draw, paid across an eight-tier ladder with a consolation prize. The 5:40 PM Rajshree 10 Evening and 9:00 PM Rajshree Night draws each top out at ₹10,000 across six tiers.

How do I match my Goa ticket — does the series matter?

For the Rajshree 50 1st prize the series prefix matters — match the full ticket (e.g. 97-7427). The consolation goes to that same four-digit number in all other series. For every lower tier, and for the entire Rajshree 10 / Night draws, only the four-digit number matters regardless of series. Open any result page to use the built-in ticket checker.

How much tax is deducted on a Goa lottery prize?

Under Section 194B, a flat 31.2% (30% TDS + 4% cess) is deducted only on winnings above ₹10,000 — so it applies to the Rajshree 50 ₹21 lakh prize (leaving ₹14,44,800 net) but not to the ₹10,000 draws, which fall on the threshold. All winnings remain taxable at 30% under Section 115BB and should be declared. Full tax math →
